Customer Profile
Austin Industries is one of the largest and most diversified construction organizations in the U.S. An employee-owned company with a work force of 6,000, Austin has built corporate headquarters for companies such as American Airlines, EDS, Exxon Corporation, and Southwest Airlines.
Austin has a large risk management department that reviews contracts for risks being assumed, and manages relationships with its insurance and bonding companies; it also writes all of its own bonds. Becky Thacker is involved with Austin’s Surety bond work, and has more than 20 years of insurance experience.
A Wish List
Becky issues different Certificates for various departments, and she uses Choices' custom Certificate software to issue them. When she first started using it, she had some specific needs that needed to be addressed: “I spoke to Pat at Choices, and she was very helpful in arranging to have the product customized for us.”
Pat is a key member of Choice’s Technical Support team. She recalls: “Becky called to ask for some help about optimizing the product features. We set up a conference call tutorial session that showed her some of the bells & whistles. We also asked her to give us a wish list, and then created a custom file she could use.”

The end result: “Choices developed it very quickly. It’s user friendly and works really well. Issuing the Certificates is easy to do and to change,” says Becky.
