In the elevator and escalator industry, KONE is known worldwide as a service company and technology leader. KONE sells, manufactures, installs, services and modernizes elevators and escalators, and operates 800 service centers in more than 40 countries and delivers 25,000 new elevators and escalators annually.
KONE has relied on Choices Software’s Agency Anywhere product to assist with the thousands of Certificates the company issues annually. Cathy Lack, KONE’s risk administrator since 2003, credits the product with cutting in half the time they spend issuing Certificates at KONE’s Illinois headquarters:
“KONE has been a client of Choices Software for years. When I started my job as risk administrator, I approached Dean with a specific issue and said, ‘What can you do for us?’ He responded immediately by highly customizing the product for us.
We have approximately 60 branch offices across the country. To keep costs down, we have issued one or two Agency Anywhere licenses per branch. Now, we can do a mass renewal here at headquarters, and our administrative assistants at each branch can print out copies locally.” The local offices can instantly access those Certificates for e-mailing and printing. Cathy adds: “We have taken the renewals and placed them into the hands of the branches. They have the capability to see if a Certificate has been issued, and can review Certificates they’ve issued in the past. This takes a huge burden off of us.”
Time Savings
Cathy adds: “We can issue a Certificate in five minutes. We are able to search by contract number, find the most current Certificate, and print it off…it’s very quick.
Previously we issued a lot of Certificates here at our headquarters. Now, if a standard Certificate outlining our coverage is needed with no changes, our field reps are able to create a new Certificate in a couple of minutes. This program saves us a tremendous amount of time. Once we do our mass renewals, we’ve easily cut our work on Certificates in half at our headquarters, freeing us up to work on other things.”
