Why Choices?
An industry veteran, Ms. Morrow wanted software that worked for the agency. She became a Choices Software customer in 1999, and started using Agency Anywhere in 2006. She notes: “Agency Anywhere is cost-effective and it works for you. The programming allows an agency to make changes easily for their own needs.”
Knowledge and Service
Ms. Morrow believes founder Dean Westover’s industry expertise, combined with Choice’s customer-focused service, is what sets the company apart: “Dean seems to have the big picture on the agency business, not just a limited knowledge of a software product. Choices’ customer service is very good. I enjoy working with Dean and his staff. They know what direction I’m going in with other things; they know the end product and will quickly answer a brief question by e-mail.”
She adds: “If we have a question or problem, they’ve always been able to work something out. We may have trouble that has nothing to do with Choices – like an equipment issue or a printer problem or operating system problem – and they will help with that, too. When we first started using Agency Anywhere, Dean said, ‘Send me a wish list of what you’d like to see changed.’ However, their program makes it fairly easy to make many changes in your own office by line of business.
Agency Anywhere is something you can use for everything,” she adds. “If your office is geared toward a certain line of business, you are not overspending if Agency Anywhere is your choice.”
As Easy as a Click of a Button
Ms. Morrow appreciates the time-saving features Agency Anywhere offers: “Certificate holders on new accounts can be processed without a lot of time spent on data entry. We can easily copy and paste from another document to enter holder information. A renewal certificate for all Certificates can be created in a few easy steps. This enables us to offer better service to our new and renewal clients.
When Certificate lists are sent to clients for renewal, our internal comments may not be useful to them, so we can turn it into an Adobe file and delete our comments, showing only information that needs to be updated or deleted by the insured. The Fine Print feature, which seems to be available only from Choices, is a great organizational and creative tool. Numerous documents can be combined in one document with a Print feature. You can e-mail any printable item (application, loss runs, pictures, supplemental questionnaires) in one document without having an Adobe expert in your office."
Another feature Ms. Wolff likes: “If you’re working with something outside of your systems, like Adobe, you can keep both documents open at the same time.”
Bottom Line
“Choices Software’s staff is gracious and the product is cost-effective. Agency Anywhere is a great product…The personal customer service along with the cost-effective features of the system are surprising and refreshing. If you take the tour on the Internet, you will find that the system operates the same way – no surprises in that area. In addition, the Agency Anywhere manual is very user-friendly.”
